William Hill expands operations in the US
The sports betting company William Hill has expanded its operations in the US by launching mobile sports betting in Iowa.
US.- William Hill is celebrating yet another launch in the United States. This time, the company kicked off its operations in Iowa, which started its sports betting industry last week and became the eleventh to do so in the country.
The sports betting app from William Hill has gone live in Iowa and is available for both Android and Apple. After the launch, William Hill became the first sports betting company with a mobile app in Iowa.
Current regulations in the state establish that people that wish to bet on sports must complete a registration process in person at a local casino. They can start the process through the app, but are then required to complete registration at a William Hill SportsBook in the state.
“We know Iowa sports fans are looking for both an in-person sports betting experience as well as the convenience of betting on their mobile devices. The William Hill Iowa app gives our customers the ability to access our full sports betting menu from anywhere in the state,” said Joe Asher, CEO of William Hill US. “Our team has worked tirelessly over the last few months to get the platform up and running and we’re proud to be the first sports betting company to do so.”
Sportsbooks in Iowa
The company opened four sportsbooks in the state at Prairie Meadows Racetrack & Casino, Lakeside Hotel & Casino, Isle Casino Hotel Bettendorf, and Isle Casino Hotel Waterloo. Players can finish their registration at those facilities.
William Hill to land in Indiana
William Hill has announced it will open its 143rd sportsbook in the country at the Tropicana Evansville.
Eldorado Resorts owns the property and wants to capitalise on the industry’s arrival in the state. September is its targeted launch date as it awaits for the approval by the Indiana Gaming Commission.
The sportsbook will feature a 16’ x 9’ ft. video wall, ten 65-inch viewing monitors and 12 odds boards.
