Italian regulator issues 70 iGaming licences

The ADM has granted 70 companies permission to operate in the online gambling segment within the country.

Italy.- The Agenzia delle Dogane e dei Monopoli (ADM) – the gaming regulator in Italy – has issued 70 online gambling licences. 66 companies have been awarded full permits to operate in the market, while the remaining four have additional, unspecified conditions attached as well.

The special licences were granted to Scommettendo, Spati, Sogno di Tolosa and Universal Solutions. The larger group, on the other end, includes large international operators such as The Stars Group, William Hill, Paddy Power Betfair, GVC, bet365 and many more.

Each company had to pay a €200k licence fee and were also required to have an existing Italian or European Union gaming permit. Said licence also had to have a turnover of at least €1.5 million in the past two years as well.
