Chinese visitors prefer Macau casinos

Macau will remain the preferred destination among Chinese outbound visitors.

Maca.- Brokerage Sanford C. Bernstein said in a report earlier today that Macau is the most accessible destination for Chinese tourists to visit casinos, therefore it will remain the key destination. Gaming is the biggest reason why outbound visitors decide to visit Macau.

“Whilst reasons for visiting Macau may be varied, gaming is the primary reason for the vast majority of visitors. Aside from gaming, other reasons to visit Macau include: dining, sightseeing and shopping – areas which Macau continues to develop and improve,” said the brokerage, as quoted by AGBrief.

Macau currently hosts more than 20 million visitors from China every year and is expected to grow exponentially that number to 34 million by 2025. Increased hotel capacity and several improvements in the transportation system are some of the drivers of this growth. “The new supply of hotel rooms and both non-gaming and gaming offerings should drive Macau’s long-term growth in visitation. Infrastructure development is a key long-term driver for Macau to further penetrate the Chinese market, leading to greater visitation,” added Bernstein.
