Wynn Macau preparing to add more hotel rooms and non-gaming facilities
Craig Billings, Wynn Resorts CEO, had said the company will develop more non-gaming facilities if it secures a licence renewal.
Macau.- Craig Billings, chief executive of Wynn Resorts, had told Bloomberg that Wynn Macau is preparing for more government requirements for casino operators to invest in non-gaming facilities should it secure a new gaming licence this year.
Billings said he would like to see more hotel rooms and other non-gaming facilities, which could include sports facilities and art and cultural attractions. He also said the company wants to focus on younger people and guests who don’t gamble if it gets a new licence.
Macau’s six gaming concessions and sub-concessions were to expire on June 26, but authorities have announced an extension of six months to December 31. A tender for licence renewals is expected to run in the third to fourth quarter of the year.
