Sands China vaccinates 10,070 team members
Sands China has vaccinated 10,070 team members as part of its plan to encourage people to get the Covid-19 vaccine.
Macau.- Sands China has announced that 10,070 team members have been vaccinated or have registered to get vaccinated to date.
Wilfred Wong, Sands China president, stated: “We each have a responsibility to support efforts to achieve herd immunity via community-wide vaccination, and I’m very proud that Sands China is doing its part to help make that happen.
“Our thanks go to the Macao SAR government for their continued leadership during the pandemic – where Macao has recorded no new local COVID-19 cases for more than 460 days – and to the Health Bureau for their collaboration again on our seminars and vaccination sessions.”
Like other casino operators in Macau, Sands China started a campaign to increase the vaccination rate in Macau. Some 395,000 doses have been given and 140,000 people have been fully vaccinated.
In June, Melco Resorts & Entertainment announced it had vaccinated 2,400 staff members and family as part of its immunity incentive programme. The company gave each employee a bonus of MOP1,000 (US$125) after getting vaccinated.
Akiko Takahashi, Melco’s executive vice president and chief of staff said: “We are thrilled to see colleagues’ positive response to the Get the Jab campaign.”
There has been a rise in the vaccination rate in Macau after the outbreak of Covid-19 cases in the neighbouring province of Guangdong.
