Resorts World Genting allowed to reopen with limited capacity
Authorities have allowed Genting Malaysia to reopen Resorts World Genting with a limited capacity.
Malaysia.- After some back and forth, the government has let Genting Malaysia reopen Resorts World Genting for customers who are fully vaccinated against Covid-19. the reopening has been at risk as authorities aimed for a 90 per cent vaccination rate against Covid-19.
On its website, RGW stated: “All our employees are fully vaccinated and ready to welcome guests in a safe environment at RWG. Some of our facilities and offerings are only available to guests who are fully vaccinated.”
The casino operator said more facilities and offerings will be reopened once interstate travel is allowed.
The casino operator closed all of its services in June after the Malaysian Prime Minister announced a nationwide Covid-19 lockdown. Until then, the resort’s hotels, food and beverage outlets, shopping malls, retail outlets and other facilities remained open.
Genting Malaysia reported gaming revenue for the first half of MYR1.14bn, down 23.3 per cent year-on-year due to the closure of its venue. Revenue was up by MYR155.7m when compared to the previous year.
