Macau Govt asks locals to return from mainland China

Residents holidaying in mainland China have been asked to return to the city and to isolate themselves for the next two weeks.

Macau.- Local health authorities have asked all Macau SAR citizens currently on holiday in Mainland China to return to the city as soon as possible.

The government is making efforts to contain the Coronavirus outbreak having already confirmed six cases of the virus. According to official information, people currently holidaying in mainland China should return to the city and put themselves in isolation for the next 14 days.

All returning government employees will also have to declare their health status before being permitted to return to work.

The sixth case of Coronavirus to be confirmed in Macau is a 15-year-old male resident of Wuhan city.

China’s National Health Commission said on Monday that in addition to 2,744 confirmed infections nationwide, there were nearly 6,000 suspected cases and more than 30,000 people under medical observation.
