Macau airport traffic jumps 112%
The latest report from the airport’s operating company reveals an increase in traffic between August and September.
Macau.- Passenger traffic through Macau International Airport jumped by 112 per cent from August to September, reaching some 13,813, according to data published by the airport’s operating company.
The airport had 10 daily airline movements in September with 15 routes running.
About 85 per cent of all passengers in the first nine months of this year travelled in January before the pandemic began to close borders. Passenger numbers in April reached a record low of 929.
A recent report by credit rating agency Fitch Ratings estimated that passenger traffic at airlines in several key Asia-Pacific markets is likely to remain well below 2019 levels in 2021.
