GTI Asia Taipei Expo 2020 cancelled
Trade show latest to be cancelled due to the Coronavirus outbreak.
Taiwan.- GTI Asia Taipei Expo 2020 has been cancelled due to the Coronavirus crisis engulfing Asia and the rest of the world.
The event has not been postponed but fully cancelled, with organisers expecting the show to return in 2021.
“To guarantee the benefits of both exhibitors and buyers as well as protecting their safety, Taiwan Amusement Machine Association (TAMA), Taiwan Digital Entertainment Association (TDEA) and GTI/Haw Ji Co., Ltd. have decided to cancel the GTI Asia Taipei Expo 2020 that should be held on April 16-18 through mutual consultation and cautious assessment,” show organisers said in a press release.
The decision comes after Taiwanese authorities extended travel restrictions for Macau and Hong Kong residents.
The restrictions apply to people on business trips or those being transferred by multinational companies, as well as the children and wives of Taiwanese residents living abroad.
Other industry shows have been postponed or cancelled due to the Coronavirus outbreak, including G2E Asia.
