Casinos to reopen in Western Australia
Casinos and gaming rooms will reopen in time for the weekend.
Australia.- Casinos in Western Australia will reopen on Saturday (June 27) as the state eases restrictions and enters phase 4 of its emergence from lockdown.
Last week, South Australia announced the return of bars, clubs and gaming rooms as well as casinos.
The announcement from the Western Australian government means major sports will be able to return, and entertainment venues will be allowed to operate at 50 per cent capacity.
Casinos gaming floors will be permitted to reopen with regular cleaning and safety measures.
Another change will be for local food and beverage outlets that will no longer need to require registers of customers.
The state expects to move into phase 5 on July 18, at which stage venues will be able to operate at full capacity and there will be no longer be a rule of 2 square metres per person.
The opening of borders with other states to allow travel without restrictions or quarantine requirements will not be permitted until the following phase.
