Casino Filipino remains closed for safety reasons

Casino Filipino temporary closed its doors following the recent eruption of the Taal Volcano.

Philippines.- Five weeks after the eruption of the Taal Volcano, PAGCOR’s Casino Filipino in Tagaytay remains closed.

The threat of further eruptions led to the evacuation of 8,000 people at the time. Casino Filipino, located close to the volcano in, was forced to close its doors and has remained shut ever since.

Providing an update this week, PAGCOR said Casino Filipino remains closed with the building “currently undergoing structural and electrical checks to guarantee safety of the entire premises.”

No date has been set for the resumption of operations.

The Taal Volcano is one of the world’s smallest volcanoes but is the second most active in the Philippines, having registered 34 eruptions over the past 450 years.
