South Lake Tahoe casinos revenue rises in October

According to gaming authorities, South Lake Tahoe casinos posted good revenue in October, unlike those on the North Shore, which had a major slump.

US.- Recent figures show different figures for casinos in the Lake Tahoe area during October. According to the reports, South Lake Tahoe casinos posted large revenue, while those on the North Shore had a poor performance.

South Lake Tahoe casinos were up 14.3% to US$19.5 million. It was due to an improved game and table win, up 115.7%, or US$2.6 million.

However, North Shore casinos at Crystal Bay saw total win going down 17.7% or US$382k to US$1.9 million. However, North Shore casinos had an 18.7% improvement in win last year. Still, the area is now down 6.3% for the calendar year.

Figures also show Washoe County casinos won US$76.6 million (3.9% up).

Nevada gaming still thrived during October

Last Tuesday, the Nevada Gaming Control Board released the financial figures from October operations in the state. October marked the second month in a row in which the state hit the US$1 billion mark in gaming win.

While in October the casinos achieved US$1.02 billion in gaming win, it represents a 3.85% decrease when compared to the same month in 2018. Clark County win declined 5.1% to US$879 million, while the Strip registered US$538.5 million but a 9.2% decrease, according to Las Vegas Review-Journal.

Michael Lawton, senior research analyst for the Nevada Gaming Control Board, said: “Game and table win of US$322.8 million decreased by 12.6%, US$46.5 million, compared with a 10.8% increase in October 2018. Baccarat win was impacted by decreased volume and a poor hold percentage. Baccarat win of US$56.7 million was down 25.7%, US$19.6 million.”
