After almost two years and US$ 164 SugarHouse Casino’s renovation and expansion project is now complete.
US.- State Senator Larry Farnese, City Councilman Mark Squilla; City Council President Darrell Clarke and Congressman Bob Brady will join casino executives on Monday for a ribbon cutting ceremony at the Delaware Avenue complex.
During the ceremony, SugarHouse officials will also unveil details on its recently announced restaurant Revolution Grill, which according to the casino’s website will be “serving up fresh ingredients, delightful flavours and unique combinations of your everyday favourites.”
The expansion project included a number of restaurants such as Geno’s Steaks, Tacconelli’s Pizzeria and Saxbys Coffee. In addition, a high-end steakhouse, Hugo’s Frog Bar and Chop House, will have its first and only Philadelphia location at SugarHouse.
The Poker Night in America room has also been added as well as the cigar bar. The construction also included building and parking garage and increased the casino size by more than 150,000 square feet. Later this year, an Asian-fare concept will make its debut.
Casino operators had previously estimated that once complete, the expansion will generate about 500 new jobs and will result in US$1 million to the Penn Treaty Special Services District for economic development in Fishtown and surrounding neighbourhoods.
