State lottery revenue increases in Arkansas
December set a new record in Arkansas, with US$45.8 million totalled in lottery revenue.
US.- The Arkansas Scholarship Lottery totalled US$45.8 million in revenue in December and set a new record. The number was approximately US$1.1 million higher over the same month a year ago, which was the previous high.
Scratch-off tickets revenue also increased by US$2 million over 2017 with figures that rise to US$38.1 million. The lottery reported that draw-game revenue suffered a slight decrease of US$825k from 2017 to US$7.6 million. Moreover, it detailed that US$59.7k were paid in fees by its 1,922 retailers on December 31, down by US$4k when compared to what was paid by 1,929 retailers in 2017.
”We had our best December for instant tickets ever,” lottery Director Bishop Woosley said. “Our new games, advertising support and excellent retail execution combined with a strong economy and low gas prices to produce a great month. We launched a new US$20 instant ticket named Ultimate Millions that has done very well and the new US$10 ticket named US$50 or US$100 has sold very well,” he added.
