US.- More casinos in the US are applying the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines for face masks to be worn due to the rise in cases of the Covid-19 Delta variant.

The Potawatomi Hotel & Casino in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, has announced it will reinstate the face mask requirement for employees and guests inside its public facilities, regardless of vaccination status. Guests will have to wear masks in public spaces within the casino, including the gaming floor, hotel lobby and the Northern Lights Theater.

The hotel and casino will give masks to guests who request them at the entrances.

Dominic Ortiz, CEO and general manager of the casino said: “As we make a concerted effort to get back to pre-pandemic operations, we also recognize the gravity of the situation when it comes to the ongoing pandemic.

“Maintaining a smoke-free facility while temporarily reinstituting our universal mask policy mirrors other entertainment venues in the community. It will help protect our guests, team members, other stakeholders and their loved ones from contracting the virus.”

Casinos in other states also have reimposed mask mandates. Philadelphia casinos are once again requiring employees and guests to wear face masks while indoors. MGM Resorts in Mississippi and Prairie Meadows casino in Iowa have also decided to require face masks.
