PokerStars launches Duel

The mobile app will allow PokerStars’ users to play heads-up matches against anyone in the world at any time.

Norway.- Pokerstar launched yesterday (Thursday) a beta version of its new mobile app named Duel in Norway, although it is expected to go global soon. Casual players will be able to play with friends, using real money or not and leaving the table at any point.

Duel intends to give players the possibility to enjoy poker as a social game. Although not all of these games will be betting real money, PokerStars will be enhancing its traffic and it is more than likely that a number of these so called casual players decide to try Spin & Go or other games in PokerStars’ portfolio. The company is marketing the app as “a broader strategy to introduce poker to new audiences.”
