Pennsylvania gaming revenue grows

Sports betting continues to drive Pennsylvania gaming revenue up, as it amounted to US$3.29 billion in the 2018-19 financial year.

US.- As the sports betting segment evolves, Pennsylvania gaming revenue thrives on it. According to the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB), it reached US$3.29 billion in the 2018-19 financial year.

Slots still post the most revenue at the 12 casinos, amounting to US$2.38 billion, or a 1.3% increase. Table games posted US$885.6 million (11.1%) and sports betting amounted to US$21.7 million.

DFS

Daily fantasy sports (DFS) keeps expanding its domination in the US market, this time by posting a 47.2% increase in revenues in Pennsylvania. Operators registered US$1.3 million in revenue from fantasy sports contests during last month’s operations.

The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) released this week the report that details operations in the state. The US$1.3 million figure represents a 47.2% rise from the US$943k registered during the same period last year.

According to the financial report, DraftKings continues to dominate the Pennsylvanian DFS market. The operator posted US$755k in revenue, which is a 51% increase over the US$502k registered during the same period last year.

FanDuel is the second-biggest operator in Pennsylvania, as it totalled US$610k in revenue in August. The figure represents a 44% rise over August 2018’s US$424k.

Moreover, Draft and Yahoo Fantasy Sports registered a 54% and 356% increase in revenues last month. The companies totalled US$16k and US$6.1k respectively. Sportshub Technologies, Boom Fantasy and Fantasy Draft experienced negative results in August.
