Coronavirus: Ontario casinos close their doors

Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corp orders all casinos to close as part of efforts to prevent the spread of Coronavirus.

Canada.- The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation has ordered all casinos to shut down to  prevent the spread of coronavirus.

“The health and safety of casino customers and employees is a priority for OLG and its service providers,” the operator said in a statement.

“OLG will provide an update on when the casinos will re-open, taking into account guidance from public health authorities,” it added.

Fallsview Casino Resort and Casino Niagara also released a statement announcing the temporary closure of their casino and resort operations.

“The health and wellness of our guests and associates is our top priority,” Niagara Casinos President, Richard Taylor, said.
