Ohio gambling sector enjoys strong start to 2020
February revenues up 11% year on year to US$171.4million.
US.- Ohio’s gambling industry is in rude health, with the states casinos and racinos reporting an 11% year on year revenue increase in February.
Revenue for the month rose from US$155 million in February 2019 to US$171.4 million, in February 2020, with some strong figures from the Cleveland/Akron market:
- JACK Thistledown Racino, up 15.7% to US$12.5 million.
- JACK Cleveland Casino, up 9.9% to US$18.7 million.
- MGM Northfield Park, up 11.3% to US$22.5 million.
According to the Ohio Casino Control Commission, the top performing venue in the state was the Hollywood Casino Columbus, with US$20.4 million in revenue.
In the first two months of 2020 combined, the four casinos and seven racinos reported US$338.9 million in revenue.
They also revealed a 14.6% hike in the amount paid out in winnings at US$340 million, up from last year’s US$296.7 million.
