New mask mandate will not affect tourists in Las Vegas
Authorities in Las Vegas have approved a mask mandate for all employees in indoor public places, but it excludes tourists and has no bearing on casinos.
US.- The Clark County Commission has unanimously opposed a recommendation from the Southern Nevada Health District to require all people to wear masks in public places regardless of their vaccination status.
The authorities have decided they will only impose a mask mandate among employees. They will be required to wear masks in public spaces of county buildings, but not in enclosed offices or cubicles.
Las Vegas casinos and other businesses were allowed to fully open in early June. The mask mandate has been lifted since then for vaccinated staff.
However, the number of Covid-19 infections has risen by 13.8 per cent. Data from state health officials show that 889 new cases were reported in Clark County on Tuesday alone.
