The Nebraska Racing and Gaming Commission has allowed the facility to offer sports wagering.
US.- WarHorse Gaming, a subsidiary of the Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska‘s economic development arm Ho-Chunk, has announced that sports betting will arrive at its casino in Omaha. It can begin taking sports bets after venue inspection and compliance testing of the sportsbook’s wagering kiosks, possibly as soon as November 1.
Sports betting will temporarily take place at a facility within the racetrack infield, where simulcast horse race betting had been previously relocated. The construction of WarHorse Casino Omaha is underway at Horsemen’s Park, located at 63rd and Q streets. WarHorse Gaming held a groundbreaking ceremony in July 2022, initially targeting an August 2023 opening, but it now expects work to be completed in June or July 2024.
The $500m casino is to feature more than 1,200 slot machines, and 20 table games. According to the plan presented to the city, the project involves renovations to the existing complex as well as nearly 67,000 square feet in new construction.
