Tennessee woman sues over alleged spa assault at MGM Grand
Clark County filing accuses the operator of failing to screen and supervise a therapist later jailed for battery.
US.- A Tennessee woman has sued MGM Resorts International over an alleged sexual assault during a massage at the MGM Grand spa in Las Vegas. The case was filed in Clark County District Court on September 4. Also named are MGM Grand Hotel LLC, MGM Grand Spa and Salon and other MGM entities.
The woman and her husband stayed at the hotel on September 7 2024. She alleges that he fell asleep and awoke to “repeated digital penetration”. The masseur is not a party to the civil suit. The woman argues that MGM was negligent and seeks $15,000 in damages.
The complaint alleges that MGM should have known about prior misbehaviour by hotel or spa staff, although it does not name any incidents. It also alleges the company acted with “malice, oppression, and conscious disregard” for guest safety. Lawyers say background checks were inadequate, staff were not trained on professional boundaries, and employees already showing warning signs were not properly monitored.
The Nevada State Board of Massage Therapy revoked the masseur’s licence in May 2025. A plea for review was turned down on August 13, 2025.
