Muscogee Nation begins Coweta Casino Hotel construction
The 104,000-square-foot development will be located on 17 acres in Oklahoma.
US.- Muscogee Nation Gaming Enterprises has begun construction on the Coweta Casino Hotel. The venue will be located on 17 acres at the southeast corner of East 131st Street South and State Highway 51 in Coweta, Oklahoma.
The 104,000-square-foot development will feature a 35,000-square-foot casino with 750 gaming machines and a 46-room hotel with a pool, fitness centre and event space. There will be a raised centre casino bar, a 150-seat restaurant and private dining room. The Coweta Casino Hotel will reportedly create 250 jobs in the greater Tulsa region.
Pat Crofts, CEO of Muscogee Nation Gaming Enterprises, said: “We’re going to generate 250 new permanent positions. I think it will drive great economic opportunity here. The local chamber, the regional chamber, has calculated during construction it’ll generate over $100m of economic benefit to the region and around $50m a year every year after, so it’s going to generate a lot of jobs, generate a lot of interest, just be a really nice help for the city here.”
“We got some negative publicity at the very beginning and as people started to figure out what the project is, we’ve gotten an awful lot of really positive feedback”, he added. “This is a $100m investment, but it’s not a giant casino like River Spirit. We’re not going to have giant concerts and giant events. It’s not going to be that impactful as far as the community.”
Meanwhile, Two Oklahoma resort casinos have made upgrades. Rock & Brews Casino Braman has celebrated the opening of its new Rock & Rollers Slot Room and Rock & Brews and Indigo Sky Casino & Resort in Wyandotte has celebrated the groundbreaking of Rock & Brews Restaurant & Concert Bar, which is slated to open in spring 2025.
