Mississippi casinos continue to recover from the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic and are now hosting job fairs to seek new workers.

US.- The Covid-19 pandemic forced casinos to lay off many workers. Now as the industry recovers, Mississippi casino operators are looking to fill dozens of openings, holding job fairs as they seek new employees.

According to Golden Nugget Biloxi Hotel and Casino assistant general manager and vice president of resort operations Scott King, casinos had a “very strong March and a very, very strong April.”

He said that staff shortages had become noticeable this month and have grown worse as the casino’s performance improves. The casino is paying over $20 an hour hoping to attract new staff.

“Going into the summer, we have a lot of momentum,” he said.
