MGM to open a casino close to Washington DC
MGM National Harbor will open this fall in Prince George’s County, Maryland.
US.- MGM National Harbor will open its doors in November in Prince George’s County, Maryland. The new casino will bring over 3,600 jobs to the area.
Currently, MGM opened its National Employment Center to begin the staff selection before its expected big opening. The operator plans to hire as many as 3,600 employees for roughly 100 different titles. The company reported it had already hired over 100 people through the employment center.
MGM’s new project will cost US$ 1.3 billion. MGM National Harbor will be located closed to Washington DC. Through an agreement reached with community officials, MGM promised 40 percent of the employees will be residents of Prince George’s County.
Commenting on the casino Anthony Muse, Maryland Senator declared: “When you ask the people in the community what they need they say, ‘Jobs, jobs, jobs,’ and they brought jobs, jobs, jobs.”
