Luís Silva, FBM: “We have a lot of novelties and exclusive product launches for G2E”
Luís Silva, head of People & Brand at FBM, spoke with Focus Gaming News about their expectations for G2E Las Vegas.
Exclusive interview.- Luís Silva, head of People & Brand at FBM, granted an exclusive sat down with Focus Gaming News to talk about the upcoming G2E Las Vegas (October 10-13) to talk about what visitors are going to find at the company’s booth.
A new edition of G2E in Las Vegas is just around the corner, what are your expectations for this event?
G2E Las Vegas has been a key factor in our marketing and creative strategy, so the preparation for this international event started a long time ago. Over the last couple of years, we couldn’t be part of the event because of Covid-19, so this year we are thrilled to attend the trade show for a number of factors.
Firstly, because of its relevance in the gaming industry and to our main casino markets, as it allows FBM® to showcase its engaging land-based portfolio to the most important players and clients. Then, being part of this global gaming community fair makes it possible to reveal our most recent innovations in the land-based casino market in real-time. Not to mention the big surprises we planned for this edition, with a new booth which I’m sure will impress event attendees.
What do you have prepared to take to G2E Las Vegas? Do you plan to introduce new products at the event?
For this event, FBM® wanted to go further. We chose the motto “Lights are on: Play like a champion!” to make people know we are not there just to make a presentation. At FBM®, we always think we should let our products speak for themselves and let people experience the exciting new features, impressive graphics and customized gaming approaches.
We actually have a lot of novelties and exclusive product launches that visitors will be able to try and witness with their own eyes, such as FBM Spin & Win and Jin Qián Link™. Besides the surprises, we will also bring the popular FBM Easy$Money Link™ and Mythic Link™ slots collections, as well as a mix of our Progressive Series (30 Mania!™, Rock Star Bingo™ and Rubingo™) and Bingo Collection (Bingo-Go, Ancient Tropics™ and Golden Metropolis™) video bingos.
This is not the first time that FBM will be exhibiting at G2E Las Vegas, how have you seen the evolution of the event in recent years?
Since it’s not our first time in the event, we knew we needed to adapt our communication strategy and product offer to an experienced audience, with deep knowledge about market desires and necessities. Because of previous editions, we understood that creating memorable experiences is what visitors are craving for in big events such as G2E Las Vegas, so we want to offer unique sensations by facilitating the communication between our teams and visitors, as well as product experimentation.
That’s why we went for a different approach this year. We planned to create something disruptive in booth 2848, something that’s never done before, which could impact visitors and establish a deeper connection with the public. G2E Las Vegas has been getting tons of recognition over the recent years, so we knew we had to step up the game and create something people won’t forget.
What is the analysis of the industry that you do, especially considering the high level of competitiveness that exists today due to the wide range of offers available to the player?
There seems indeed to be a higher level of competitiveness in the casino and gaming industry, which is a positive indicator that there’s a growing interest and demand to offer innovative solutions to all kinds of players. It also helps FBM® to be better when it comes to comprehending different customer and market profiles, the player’s gaming habits and favourite features.
Most importantly, it gives us a sense of purpose as to why we do what we do. FBM® is constantly working towards surpassing clients’ expectations, and we strive to develop cabinets and games that are suitable to all kinds of players, given their geographical locations, contexts and backgrounds. We believe that who makes a difference in the casino gaming industry are the ones who listen to their clients and provide them with the technical and creative resources they long for.
What is the assessment you make so far this year?
2022 has been a very important year for FBM®. We came back stronger from the pandemic and improved our products to make new launches and materialize several gaming collection expansions based on a deep market research. This allowed us to establish meaningful partnerships with key players. Moreover, it was also a significant year for FBM Foundation, as we took upon several solidarity and humanitarian actions on the field.

What are the next events on the calendar for FBM?
Apart from product novelties and new branding initiatives, FBM® will be attending other international events. In November of 2022, FBMDS® will attend the SBC Latino-America event. In February of the next year, FBM® and FBMDS® will attend ICE London. In March, both brands will also be present in FIJMA, an international convention based in Madrid which gathers companies, manufacturers and professionals of the Gaming and Gambling industry. These are some of the plans for the short-term future for the FBM® group and we can’t wait to meet you there!
