Las Vegas Sands to invest in Macau

The company is set to increase its investment in its Macau business to more than €1.5 billion.

Macau.- Las Vegas Sands revealed that it is set to invest more than €1.5 billion in the next two years into its Macau operation. The move comes ahead of the renewal of its casino license in the Chinese gambling hub.

The company revealed the news during its third quarter financial results report last week and said that the Sands Cotai Central rebrand into the Londoner Macao will start next year and will cause minimal disruption during peak business periods. Completions are expected throughout 2020 and 2021.

The investment, which is added to the €12 billion that Sands has dedicated to Macau in the last decade and a half is set to help the company convince the Chinese government to renew the company’s concession in Macau, which is set to expire in 2022.
