KSA calls for moderation in igaming advertising
The Dutch regulator’s chairman has warned operators to moderate their advertising once igaming goes live in the Netherlands or face severe restrictions.
The Netherlands.- With online gambling to go live in the Netherlands from Ocotber, René Jansen, chairman of the Dutch regulator Kansspelautoriteit (KSA) has urged operators to moderate their advertising after the launch.
Janssen warned against “a bombardment of advertisements” once the market launches if operators hope to avoid strict restrictions like those introduced in Italy and Spain.
He said: “The experiences abroad have hopefully taught us that the industry itself also has a responsibility.
“Do not look for the edges; advertise in an appropriate and responsible manner. We have a common interest in ensuring the proper legalisation and regulation of online gambling.”
