Kentucky online sports betting handle reaches $218.9m in February
The handle increased by 14.3 per cent year-over-year.
US.- Kentucky’s online sports betting handle was $218.9m in February, down 19.2 per cent from January but up 14.3 per cent year-over-year. The Kentucky Horse Racing and Gaming Corporation reported that gross revenue was $32.2m, down 10.5 per cent from January and up 54.2 per cent year-over-year.
Retail sportsbooks located at Churchill Downs, The Mint Cumberland, Ellis Park, Kentucky Downs, Oak Grove, Red Mile, Sany’s, and Turfway Park generated a combined $5.7m handle, down 6.1 per cent from January, and $458,262 in revenue, down 34.2 per cent.
Among the eight licensed Kentucky sportsbook apps, DraftKings led the market with $80.7m in wagers and $11.9m in revenue. Fanatics Sportsbook reported $10.1m in wagers, FanDuel $74m, bet365 $23.9m, BetMGM $11.2m, Caesars $10.7m, PENN Sports $5.6m, and Circa Sportsbook $2.3m.
In February, Churchill Downs Incorporated (CDI) announced the opening of Owensboro Racing & Gaming, the company’s seventh historical horse racing entertainment property in the state. The $100m gaming and entertainment venue in Owensboro features 600 historical racing machines (HRMs), a retail sportsbook, and simulcast wagering. It also offers food and beverage options.
