Judge blocks report against Steve Wynn

The judge temporarily blocked the release of a report against the co-founder of Wynn Resorts.

US.- A judge in Massachusetts has temporarily blocked the release of a Massachusetts Gaming Commission (MGC) report about allegations against former casino owner Steve Wynn, a court official informed this week.

Clark County District Court Judge Elizabeth Gonzalez informed attorneys involved in the Steve Wynn case that she will hear arguments whether the report contains confidential information and documents that Wynn claims should be protected by attorney-client privilege.

Steve Wynn filed a case against his former company and the MGC earlier this month, as he argues that the company wrongly gave away privileged documents to the gaming commission, which is investigating allegations of misconduct from Wynn that were reported in the Wall Street Journal in February.

As the ruling took place in Clark County, Nevada, attorneys for the commonwealth and the MGC say that a Nevada judge lacks jurisdiction to decide if regulators in Massachusetts can utilise those documents or not.
