Graton Resort & Casino unveils new project
The facility will present its newest expansion.
US.- The new Graton Resort & Casino hotel will be open to the public on Tuesday, after an ambitious renovation and addition of a 200 room hotel. The casino located in Sonoma County, California, finished its first renovation after its opening in November 2013.
With the latest addition, Graton Resort & Casino becomes the first casino in Sonoma County that has an attached hotel. The tribal chairman of the Federated Indians of Graton Rancheria Greg Sarris, said that he’s hoping that they can afford to pay the debt that they currently hold and contribute with the community. “We also very much needed, for many of our guests who come from far away, a place for them to stay right on the facility. Before, if they wanted to stay overnight, we had to either shuttle them across town to a hotel in Rohnert Park, or even down to a hotel in San Francisco. And now, everything is all in one place,” he said.
The US$175 million Graton Resort & Casino expansion, operated by Las Vegas based Station Casinos, will also offer a Boathouse Asian restaurant, a spa, a meeting-convention space and a new pool area. With US$800 million already invested in the casino, this further expansion brings the costs of the whole project to nearly US$1 billion.
