Gaming tax revenue to increase in 2019 in Macau
A draft budget indicates that gaming will increase tax revenue to approximately €10 million.
Macau.- A draft budget introduced at the Legislative Assembly in Macau indicates that tax revenue from gaming operations is expected to reach the €10 million mark. The increase represents an estimated 10% rise.
Leong Vai Tax, secretary for Economy and Finance, said that the increase in gaming tax revenue represents an increase of €1.14 million when compared to the number from this year, which is estimated to be a 10% increase. He also said that the number was set based on estimated gross revenue of €28.4 billion for 2019.
Moreover, the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) from Macau reported that the number of visitors in October increased 9.2% year-on-year. The results from last month have brought the total for the first ten months of the year to 19 million visitors, which shows an 8.4% year-on-year rise when compared to the same period last year.
