Detroit casinos’ revenue drop 3.2 percent
Revenue for the three casinos in the state dropped 3.2 in September compared with the previous month.
US.- Despite the drop of 3.2 percent, the three casinos in Detroit rose compared with the same month in 2015. According to the Michigan Gaming Control Board, aggregate revenue for September marks the second straight monthly drop: it also dropped 2.2 percent in August compared with July.
MotorCity Casino Hotel’s revenue was up 3.6 percent compared with 2015 to US$ 48.5 million. MGM Grand Detroit’s monthly revenue was up 3.6 percent to US$37 million compared with the same period in 2015, and Greektown Casino hotel rose 0.3 percent to US$26.7 million.
In the last month, the three casinos paid US$9.1 million in state gaming taxes, US$400.000 more than in 2015. They submitted US$17.8 million in wagering taxes and development agreement payments to Detroit during September.
