Casinos in Ohio report revenue increase

February was a relatively good month for casinos in Ohio, as they reported a slight increase when compared to 2017.

US.- According to information released by the Ohio Casino Control Commission, the state experienced a slight increase in earnings in February when compared to the same month in 2017. Statewide revenue for casinos totalled US$67.6 million, a 0.6 per cent increase from the previous year.

Cincinnati and Toledo facilities were the top scorers, as they helped the state reach an increase in February: the best numbers were seen at the Jack Cincinnati Casino, which earned US$17 million, approximately two per cent more than the same month in 2017. Hollywood Casino Toledo also experienced a slight increase of 1.3 per cent, totalling US$15.6 million last month.

On the flip side, Jack Cleveland Casino and Hollywood Casino Columbus both saw their revenues drop. The former experienced a one per cent decrease to US$16.3 million, while Hollywood Casino Columbus was down 0.5 per cent with only US$18 million in earnings. Month-to-month totals showed overall good results, as the state earned approximately US$4.6 million more than January, when Ohio totalled US$63 million.
