Casinos in Indiana post increase in revenues

The state posted a 2.8 per cent hike in revenues during last month’s operations.

US.- According to the monthly revenues report released on Tuesday by the Indiana Gaming Commission, casinos in the state totalled US$93.22 million in March, which represents a 2.8 per cent increase over the US$90.6 million they raked in during the same period in 2017.

The five casinos located in Northwest Indiana experienced a good month, with overall year-over-year revenue increases in all but Majestic Star I in Gary, which experienced a four per cent decline to US$9.5 million, approximately US$400k less than in March 2017.

The report detailed that Ameristar Casino in East Chicago posted a 9.1 per cent increase in revenues, from US$21 million to US$22.9 million, while Majestic Star II Casino in Gary experienced a 2.9 per cent rise from US$5.7 million to US$5.9 million. Horseshoe Hammond’s revenues rose 1.2 per cent from US$39.3 million to US$40.1 million, while Blue Chip Casino in Michigan City was the casino with the smallest increase, as it achieved a one per cent jump from US$14.9 million to US$15.1 million.
