Casino Rama in Ontario to reopen after 16-month closure
After being closed for over 16 months, Casino Rama in Canada will reopen to the public today.
Canada.- Casino Rama, operated by Gateway Casinos and Entertainment, will reopen today (July 29) after 16 months of closure due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Customers will be required to provide contact tracing information upon entry. Staff have undergone training to comply with the measures to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
Rob Mitchell, director of public affairs for Gateway Casinos and Entertainment said there will be plexiglass dividers, particularly at the table games.
He added: “You will see them at some of the slots, and some of the slots are separated for a social distancing of two meters. Those will be the things that will be noticeable, but we’re really striving to make it as enjoyable an experience as possible”.
Initially, only the casino floor will reopen. The hotel is expected to reopen in a second phase by mid-August. The entertainment centre will reopen in autumn.
