NZ extends Covid-19 measures

The country has recorded its first death due to Covid-19 in three months.

New Zealand.- Prime Minister Jacinta Ardern has decided to keep current lockdown measures in place at least until mid-September after the country reported its first death related to Covid-19 in three months.

A 50-year-old man died last week in Auckland. The city will remain on alert level 2.5, while the rest of the country remains on level 2.

According to a message in SkyCity Auckland’s website, the casino was due to open this weekend under level of alert 2 for Gold, Platinum and VIP Black Premier Rewards members.

Reopening will now not be possible until at least September 14, when the government will revise restrictions again.

As well as SkyCity, the extention of the measures also hit TAB NZ.
