Laos to ease Covid-19 restrictions but casinos will remain closed
Laos authorities will extend some restrictions until July 4 although certain businesses will be allowed to reopen under strict measures.
Laos.- Covid-19 countermeasures in Laos have been extended for at least 15 days until July 4 due to new cases in neighbouring countries. However, authorities said some rules would be eased to allow certain businesses to reopen.
According to the new announcements, shopping malls, retail shops, and supermarkets that comply with Covid-19 prevention measures may open. The government has also allowed activities and events with less than 50 participants and under social distancing rules.
Casinos and other entertainment venues will remain closed at least until the end of current measures on July 4.
As in other countries, land and air travel is likely to be allowed only for people who have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19. The Ministry of Health has reported a total of 2,050 cases of Covid-19 in Laos and 1,935 recoveries.
