Tennessee sports betting regulator updates regulations
New rules include the addition of multi-factor identification requirements.
US.- The Tennessee gaming regulator has released new rules for sports betting in the state. Effective June 30, 2025, new rules add multi-factor identification requirements for various account activities, define more responsible gaming terms and introduce new conditions on the processes for voiding or cancelling wagers. There are also changes to know-your-customer (KYC) requirements, marketing and advertising rules and more.
Tennessee Sports Wagering Council (SWAC) chair Billy Orgel said: “The SWC is committed to continuously improving its rules and regulations to ensure safety, fairness and transparency for the industry and playing public. Making these rule changes is a staff-wide effort working with the industry and consumers to solicit feedback and constantly reevaluate what’s working and what could be improved, and we appreciate everyone who participated in this public process.”
The regulator says Tennessee is the largest online-only sports betting market in the US. More than $4.7bn was wagered in the last fiscal year.
