Star to unveil Gold Coast casino expansion plan
Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk confirmed a “significant” tourism announcement to be made to be made on the Gold Coast.
Australia.- Star Entertainment set to announce a further investment in its existing Gold Coast casino site.
This announce is widely expected to be a further expansion of Star’s plans, which has room for an additional two towers on its site, as well as potential for a pedestrian bridge to the newly revamped Pacific Fair shopping centre. Star is likely to be preparing for when it faces competition from a second Gold Coast casino after the ASF Consortium won a bid to build an integrated resort development.
Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk confirmed a “significant” tourism announcement to be made on the Gold Coast, following her Hong Kong trade mission. Star’s announcement, will boost Palaszczuk Government’s plan to increase jobs and growth.
Star Entertainment is also building the multi-billion Queen’s Wharf casino development in Brisbane and has already announced plans for an AUD850 million (US$617 million) development on its existing Jupiter’s site, with two towers including a 4.5 star hotel in the first stages of construction. Construction on Queen’s Wharf will begin later this year.
