February sports betting revenue plunges in Pennsylvania
Sports betting revenue in Pennsylvania dropped to US$4.7 million in February, marking the first month-tomonth decline since it launched in November 2018.
US.- Pennsylvania sports betting revenue posted its first decrease for the first time since it launched in 2018. The segment went down to US$4.7 million during February, nearly four fifths down from January.
According to the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB), the segment had poor results both in the land-based and online vertical. While the iGaming market went down over three quarters to US$4.1 million, on-site bets reached just US$628k.
Pennsylavania sports betting not only went down in revenue but also in total handle. It dropped 5.3% to US$329.8 million, with retail reaching US$35.6 million and US$294.1 million on the online market.
The PGCB also revealed figures for the casino segment, with the 12 operators posting a 13.75% rise in revenues to US$304.3 million. Parx Casino led the way at US$57.8 million, while Wind Creek Bethlehem came in second after a 12.2% dip that left it US$20 million behind.
Online casino operators revenue soared 40% to a staggering US$19.5 million. Online slots rose to US$9.6 million, table games US$8 million and online poker fell to US$1.83 million last month.
