Michigan gambling regulator announces reappointment to board
Governor Gretchen Whitmer has reappointed Mark Evenson for another term.
US.- The Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB) has announced that Governor Gretchen Whitmer has reappointed Mark Evenson, of South Lyon, to its board for a new term from January 1, 2027, to December 31, 2030. Initially appointed in September 2024, Evenson will continue to serve as a board member with Deidre Lambert-Bounds, Andrew T. Palms, Joni M. Thrower Davis and chair Jim Ananich.
The reappointment is subject to the advice and consent of the Michigan Senate. The board comprises five Michigan residents appointed by the governor. Under the Michigan Gaming Control & Revenue Act, no more than three members may belong to the same political party. Three members must be present at meetings to form a quorum.
Evenson currently serves as the chief financial officer of Diversified Members Credit Union. Previously, he was chief financial officer at Cornerstone Community Financial. He has been a board member of the Plymouth Chamber of Commerce and vice chair of the Novi Educational Foundation Board.

The MGCB recently announced the launch of an updated website to coincide with Problem Gambling Awareness Month. The updated Don’t Regret the Bet site features additional tools, educational content, and support resources.
Michigan igaming and sports betting revenue increases year-over-year in February
Michigan commercial and tribal operators reported $313m in combined online gaming and online sports betting gross receipts in February. That’s an increase of 16.6 per cent year-over-year and a decrease of 12.2 per cent from January 2026.
igaming gross receipts totalled $273.1m, while online sports betting gross receipts were $39.9m. The online sports betting handle was $384.7m, down 21.7 per cent from January.
