Michigan igaming and sports betting revenue increases year-over-year in February

Revenue increased 16.6 per cent year-over-year.

US.- Michigan commercial and tribal operators reported $313m in combined online gaming and online sports betting gross receipts in February. That’s an increase of 16.6 per cent year-over-year and a decrease of 12.2 per cent from January 2026.

igaming gross receipts totalled $273.1m, while online sports betting gross receipts were $39.9m. The online sports betting handle was $384.7m, down 21.7 per cent from January.

The Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB) reported that combined adjusted gross receipts (AGR) totalled $287.5m: $262.1m from igaming, down 8.5 per cent from the previous month, and $25.4m from online sports betting, down 31.2 per cent. Year-over-year, igaming AGR increased 25.4 per cent, while online sports betting AGR decreased 6.7 per cent.

According to the regulator, operators submitted $55.6m in taxes and payments to the state. The three Detroit casinos reported $13.4m in wagering taxes and municipal services fees paid to the City of Detroit.

Michigan regulator expands responsible gaming advertising programme

The Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB) recently announced the expansion of its “Don’t Regret the Bet” responsible gaming programme by inviting high school sports booster clubs to participate. The project supports local athletic programmes financially while delivering responsible gaming messaging to youth. Participating organisations can earn up to $4,000 by running responsible gaming ads that drive awareness and community engagement.

Advertising can include digital and social media ads featuring “Don’t Regret the Bet” messaging, placement in event programmes, scoreboards, and booster newsletters, and branded posters and graphics distributed for school sporting events.
