Casinos in New York return to full capacity
After 15 months, casinos will return to full capacity in line with the relaxation of Covid-19 measures in New York state.
US.- Casinos in New York are returning to full capacity amid the relaxation of Covid-19 countermeasures in the state.
Casinos in New York can now operate at full capacity, but some restrictions will remain in place: casinos will be closed for four hours a day, poker rooms will remain closed, and a prohibition on live entertainment will remain in place. There will also be no beverage services on the casino floors.
According to recent reports, gross gaming revenue is picking up strongly. In April and May 2021, GGR was $14.16m and $14.88m respectively; the highest numbers ever registered for those two months.
Rivers Casino: remaining protocols
Rivers Casino New York has provided an update on its operations and protocols, announcing the following:
- Plexiglass barriers between slot machines have been removed.
- Face masks will be mandatory only for unvaccinated employees and visitors.
- The Landing Hotel is fully open.
- Beverage service will resume at the bar, Van Slyck’s, on Friday.
- The casino remains closed from 2am to 6am for daily sanitizing protocols.
- Still absent is live entertainment at the Event Center and at Van Slyck’s, the poker room, drinks on the casino floor, and 290 out of a total 1,150 slot machines.
Rivers is returning to GGR levels seen in 2019, averaging $12.93m a month in 2021, compared with $13.56m in the same five months of 2019.
