US Marshals Service seizes funds from IPI

The funds were seized from IPI’s bank account to comply with a judgment in favour of Red Coral Corporation, which sued IPI for not paying a lease agreement.

Northern Mariana Islands.- The US Marshals Service has seized $9,386.66 from IPI‘s Saipan bank account by writ of execution in order to comply with a judgment on behalf of Red Coral Corporation. Red Coral, represented by attorney Colin Thompson, had sued IPI for failing to pay leases on a 20-unit apartment complex between January 2019 and August 2019.

Saipan Bank received a writ of execution issued by the District Court for NMI ordering the seizure of funds deposited by IPI into its Saipan Bank accounts. 

Last week, Imperial Pacific International (IPI) paid its workers in Garapan after a week’s delay. IPI’s employees, including eight administrative staff and 17 security guards, were due to be paid on February 25, but IPI issued a notice informing them that due to challenges, payroll payments for the period from February 7 to 20 were going to be delayed until further notice.
