Solaire Resorts & Casino vaccinates all staff
Solaire Resorts & Casino has announced that it has fully vaccinated its day-to-day staff through a programme that started in the last week of June.
The Philippines.- Bloomberry Resorts and Hotels’ Solaire Resort & Casino in Metro Manila has announced that it has completed its vaccination programme for its day-to-day staff.
The company started the free jab programme back in June. It said dependents were now being scheduled for their initial dose. Up to five dependents of each Solaire employee are covered by the programme.
Another casino in the Philippines, Okada Manila, also announced the launch of a free programme to vaccinate all of its staff against Covid-19 by the fourth quarter of 2021. The company will work with AC Health to vaccinate more than 5,700 team members.
Byron Yip, Okada Manila’s president, said: “Having our team members and their loved ones vaccinated won’t just keep them safer from the threat of Covid-19, this will also give them some peace of mind during this unprecedented and unpredictable time.
“More vaccinated individuals mean we can contribute to managing the number of Covid-19 cases in the country while also helping with restarting the economy.”
Bloomberry posts GGR of PHP5.67bn for the second quarter
The company which operates Solaire Resort & Casino has reported gross gambling revenue (GGR) of PHP5.67bn for Q2, down 18 per cent when compared to the previous quarter.
Earnings before interest, taxation, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) was PHP1.03bn (US$20.5m), down 31.2 per cent from the previous quarter as the Solaire Resort was closed for 44 days due to Covid-19 countermeasures.
Bloomberry reported net revenue for the second quarter of PHP4.71bn, down 14.7 per cent when compared to the previous quarter. However, the figure was up 400 per cent year-on-year. Its net loss came in at PHP1.16bn, which represents an improvement from PHP4.70bn a year earlier.
Enrique Razon, Bloomberry’s chairman and chief executive, said: “Bloomberry generated respectable results during the quarter despite having virtually no gaming operations between April and mid-May.”
