New Zealand.- SkyCity Entertainment Group will reopen its casinos to the public on Thursday after the country’s Covid-19 alert level was dropped.
Casinos in Auckland, Hamilton and Queenstown will allow customers through their doors for the first time since late March but with additional safety measures in place.
All SkyCity properties will see distinct zones created on the main gaming floor so that less than 100 guests or staff are present at any one time, as per government guidelines.
Slot machine layouts are to be changed to ensure appropriate social distancing, while reduced seating will be in place at gaming tables.
SkyCity announced yesterday that 700 more jobs could be lost due to the financial impact of Covid-19 on the sector and its business.
