Australia.- SkyCity Adelaide has announced that from February 10 it will require proof of Covid-19 vaccination for admission to the casino. The measure includes the hotel Eos by SkyCity, and all bars and restaurants, such as Sol, iTL, Madame Hanoi and Sean’s Kitchen.

All employees and customers over the age of 18 for gaming venues and over the age of 16 for non-gaming venues will need to show proof of full Covid-19 vaccination or a medical exemption to enter.

David Christian, SkyCity Australia COO, said: “While we have existing robust health and safety measures in place to limit the risk of exposure to Covid-19, public health information and research confirms that Covid-19 vaccines provide the best protection for our employees and customers.

“SkyCity has been significantly impacted by the outbreak, and we have been encouraging our people to get vaccinated at the earliest opportunity.”

Customers will be required to show a Covid-19 digital certificate on their smart device or provide photo identification with a printed certificate. Official medical exemptions will need to be provided by unvaccinated patrons.

SkyCity Adelaide continues to operate under a SA Health-approved Covid-19 Management Plan and is currently restricted to operating at 1 person per 4 square metres across the property. The wearing of face masks, physical distancing, QR code check-in and high hygiene standards continue to be mandatory at SkyCity venues.

At the start of the month the Ministry of Health in Queenstown identified SkyCity as a location of interest after a customer tested positive for Covid-19 after visiting on New Year’s Day.
