Nagasaki launches new IR Promotion Council
The prefecture has established an IR Promotion Council comprising 22 groups in the Kyushu region to create networking opportunities with local businesses.
Japan.- Nagasaki has announced the launch of its IR Promotion Council to help promote effective business networking opportunities.
Plans to establish the body were initially laid out last November in a bid to create strategies and to hold events and seminars for local businesses.
The IR Promotion Council comprises 22 constituent organisations including the Sasebo Municipal Government, the Nagasaki Prefectural and the Kyushu Regional Governor’s Association.
The Kyushu IR Council said: “The attraction of an IR can energize Kyushu and with our own hands we can make a connection with the next generation.
“We are still in the midst of the attraction process. The first thing we must do is to win the area certification for Kyushu and Nagasaki.”
Of the five initial contenders to become Nagasaki’s IR partner, three have been selected to advance to the next round.
Oshidori International Holdings, Casinos Austria International and Niki Chau Fwu Group will enter into a competitive dialogue with the prefecture and city to be held in May.
Nagasaki hopes to select its final candidate in August.
