The promoter of the South Korean casino says losses from the latest shut down will amount to US$53.9 million.
South Korea.- Kangwon Land Inc, promoter of Kangwon Land casino, said it has extended closure of the facility until October 12.
The closure of the only casino in South Korea where locals are allowed to gamble was due to end on October 5 but the country continues to apply measures to contain the spread of Covid-19.
Kangwon Land casino was first shut in February at the beginning of the pandemic, then resumed VIP operations in May. Due to a rise in cases, it closed its doors again on August 23.
Kangwon Land said it expects losses from the latest closure to amount to KRW62.7 billion (US$53.9 million) based on daily-average casino sales during the first half of 2020.
